Today was the official start of SXSW Music which meant housekeeping duties like getting badges, wristbands, and other needed credentials. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t all line waiting. I managed to get to the Spotify House, Paste/Sennheiser Lounge, German Haus, Hype Hotel, and Central Presbyterian Church. I know it’s only going to get crazier from here on out! Band Photo […]

The number of times that I’ve mentioned Irontom via Tweet, Facebook, email or face-to-face conversation probably cannot be counted but you should know that it is for cause: I happen to believe in this band. A five-piece out of Los Angeles, Harry Hayes (vox), Zach Irons (guitar), Dane Sandborg (bass), Daniel Saslow (keys) and Dyl Williams (drums) are, by my […]

It’s like the 10th anniversary of an Academy Award winning, live changing film when you find out who auditioned for but didn’t get or even turned down that pivotal starring roll. Son of a bitch. Cue the Postal Service who are in the throes of kissing themselves on the mouth (repeatedly) in celebration of their debut album Give Up, now 10 […]

Beca finds inspiration in things like surrealism. She’s also quite a fan of both the R&B and Industrial of the 1990s. She has been characterized as “A female Serge Gainsbourg produced by the RZA.” She’s a bit of an enigma. But, in a recent chat I had with the postmodern singer/songwriter, she described for me what most inspires her. “It’s […]
