“Too Late” By Minke

THE WHO: Minke

THE WHAT: When British singer/songwriter, Minke, released her debut EP, The Tearoom, in March, she gave us a fuller taste of the burgeoning artist’s flair for blues flavored pop in a neat little package where she – lyrically – spilled the ‘tea’ on bits of her life. Her new video, “Too Late,” directed by Aisha Tyler (yes, that Aisha Tyler) is a visual aid to that tea spillage which Minke says, “…feels wholly representative of the song as it captures the dizzy confusion I was feeling at the time when I wrote it.”

As gently evocative as “Too Late” is, it still effectively packs quite an emotional punch and we are always here for that. Mind you, we do have feelings about seeing a busking Minke hanging out at the Hollywood/Western stop of the Metro Red Line in Los Angeles and knowing that we missed a chance encounter with her on the subway. Guess we were simply too late.

THE WHERE: Minke has a busy spring ahead of her as – in addition to her sold-out show at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles on Friday, April 5th – she hits the road opening for X Ambassadors (whom we kind of love) on their European tour followed by select supporting dates in May with Kevin Garrett in the US.
