“Little Toes” By CAPYAC and Annabelle Maginnis

THE WHO: CAPYAC and Annabelle Maginnis (Los Angeles, CA)

THE WHAT: Considering the oceanic depth of artists, musicians, and overall creatives occupying space in Los Angeles, CA, collaboration is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Case in point, the deliciously gentle neo-soul, and jazz-flavored confection, “Little Toes,” courtesy of the combined forces of electronic dance masters Delwin Campbell and Eric Peana of CAPYAC and honey-voiced chanteuse, Annabelle Maginnis of MetronOhm.

It was the two entities seamlessly coming together sans any preconceived notions of an outcome that gave birth to “Little Toes” – that and the premature birth of a friend’s child sparking musings on how fragile yet resilient life can be. The result: a song so groovy, so pretty and so damned lullaby-esque that we cannot help but be here for it.

And something that the Lance Williams-directed video captures is the soft, celebratory nature of feeling alive and vibrant and connected as Maginnis and her colorful companions weave their way across land and towards the sea. So excuse us while we put “Little Toes” on repeat because this song is a mood.

THE WHERE: If you’re in LA then you’re in luck: CAPYAC just happens to be May’s Monday night resident band at the Echo and that’s where you can find them on 5/20 and 5/27. In the meantime, keep up with and find out more about CAPYAC and Annabelle Maginnis in the usual places:
