Music On, World Off: Jurassic World Edition

Dancing Tyrannosaurus Rex’s, anyone?

Chris Pratt & Bryce Dallas Howard

Yeah, that happened because on Saturday, June 2nd at the Grove in Los Angeles Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard – stars of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom coming out June 22nd – opened the largest package that Amazon Prime has ever 2-day shipped (40 ft x 17 ft). It contained a T-Rex so – of course – a few of its kin busted some funky moves for the occasion.

While we wait for June 22nd to arrive you’re going to need some music to listen to, so here’s an updated Music On, World Off playlist featuring goodies like “Fast Slow Dance” from the dynamic (understatement) St. Vincent while MONA makes you think with “Thought Provoked.” Old school rock ‘n roll is in the capable hands of The Record Company with “I’m Getting Better (And I’m Feeling It Right Now)” while fellow Los Angeles locals SWIMM keep up their affirmative ways (“Uh Huh”), DRAEMINGS party nocturnal and “Stay Up All Night (Dancing to the Knife)” and Smoke Season come with “Sweetest Thing.” Oh, and the lovely Lucie Silvas is back with her first single of 2018 and it’s a groover: “Kite.”

Plus some Matt Maeson (LA, catch him at the Echo on June 6th), Meg Myers, Joywave and Freedom Fry for great measure. It’s a Jurassic world out there, so cue up Music On, World Off, enjoy the tunes and if you come across any T-Rex’s during the day, run. They may dig “Uptown Funk” but they’re still carnivores, folks.
