Dorothy (Bowery Ballroom)

Bowery Ballroom | New York, NY | January 10, 2018 | Words & Photos: Cortney Armitage |

Her message is of love and freedom and – clearly – it resonated as Dorothy’s show was sold out at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. The freedom to love whomever you choose and, in a moment that exemplified this, Dorothy gracefully knelt at the edge of the stage to hold hands with an attendee; a tear slipping down the side of her face as he kissed her hand and gently spoke grateful words. The moment was not lost on anyone in attendance and, after it passed, it even seemed to fuel the show. Dorothy didn’t disappoint anyone as she belted out new songs like her newest release, “Down To The Bottom” (from her upcoming album written with the amazing Linda Perry), while satisfying with old favorites.

And Dorothy’s Freedom Tour rolls on.
