The Lone Bellow (Central Park Summer Stage, NY)

The crack of Brian Elmquist’s guitar could sway the wind but when he took center stage to sing, his voice seemed to gently ask the sun to go to sleep. It was a new moon on that night, so when Zach Williams came out to the front of the stage it was as if he was willing the sun to set and the night to come with the power of his voice. Williams’ voice just has that kind of power and commands that kind of respect. Rounding out this trinity of music magic is Kanene Donehey Pipkin: this mandolin playing siren told the stars to twinkle and shine over New York City. This is the caliber of talent that The Lone Bellow delivers and – good Lord – did they deliver.
