Mondo Cozmo is OG; a Philadelphia son. He celebrates friendship by leading the room in a triple round of “Hip hip, hooray!” His beer and gear will become show casualties. The lady of his life will publicly “suffer” his honors for her love and sacrifice with the promise that her faith will not have been in vain. And then along the road of extensive adventures and trials, he will headline and sell out a venue where he’s played as the undercard more times than he can remember. All in due time comes yours to shine.
Because Mondo Cozmo is soul music to shine by: earnest as a dance party threatening to happen, heartfelt, folk rock and roll, a celebration of the bittersweet symphony of life. And we are so into it.
A better opening band for MC than Sego? Not on this night. The LA-based band repped their Utah roots with a dynamic sprawl of art-punk that has progressed by absurd leaps and bounds since their 2014 Wicked Youth EP. Sego. You’re welcome.
