It felt like an OG Friday night on the Sunset Strip with plenty of familiar faces in the room and on the stage for The Shakers EP release show. The Shakers have graced the Viper Room’s stage many times over the years but this was guitarist Chris Lee, bassist Nick Woods and drummer Ro’s first appearance there with their new front woman, Blaze Powers. Above the typically rock and roll rock solid musical foundation that the band always lays, Powers flexed her pretty impressive vocals on songs from their Wave EP like “Apple Tree” and “Take a Lil Fire” and even dipped back into the Shakers catalogue for “Strong Sharp Creature.”
Also filling the night with high quality blues-infused rock was Zachary Kibbe and company of Felipe Rodrigo (guitar) and Gene Louis (drums).
