The What: Take a deep breath…inhale, exhale, then press ‘play’. Because the latest single from Mondo Cozmo (aka Joshua Ostrander) just may have served up the one thing that every person in these United States (let alone on the planet) needs during this God-awful thing called Election 2016: four minutes and thirty seven seconds of sweet, sweet peace of mind. Nothing more is needed than the simplicity of this video in clean black & white as “Shine” is all rawness striking with the heart of Dylan-esque Americana, beautifully hopeful as fuck, and an anthem worthy of so much licensing and placement that I expect to hear it during a Hulu commercial break within two months. Keep the faith, oh weathered ones. We are going through some kind of fresh hell right now, so take solace where you can. Ostrander’s Mondo Cozmo is here for you so get your “Shine” on.
