The Who: DROWNERS (New York, NY)
The What: “Talking about the boy from New York City”: High Voltage cool points if you know what song that line comes from. The New York City boys we’re talking about today are the on the rise rockers, DROWNERS. On the heels of their second full length album, On Desire (due out June 24th on Frenchkiss Records), Matthew Hitt (vox, guitar), Jack Ridley (guitar), Erik Snyder (bass) and Daniel Jacobs (drums) deliver a video that is true to the post-punk ethos: dark, broody and moody. But then Hitt is singing about cruel ways, so is there really any other way to go? We think not.
