The Who: Juke Jaxon (London, England)
The What: Jack Moore and Ben Hawthorne met on a London subwa…, pardon, underground in 2014, finding common musical ground in the sounds of old school Motown. Fast forward to this February and the release of their first single, “Memory Man,” and selling out their first London show. Not bad. Skip ahead some more to this, their first video directed by Lukasz Pytlik. While the “Memory Man” story follows the relationship of an assassin, his protegé and ends with a bit of karmic chill, the song, itself, boasts an undercurrent of warmth and soul and we’re into it. Obviously this is only the beginning for Juke Jaxon and we’ll keep ears wide open for what’s next, but “Memory Man” is a damned good start.
