Hanging Out with High Voltage: Mainland

For a year we’ve been kicking around an idea to start a weekly YouTube series. We wanted to create something that would stand out from other entertainment sites video sessions. But after nearly nine months of brainstorming we realized we weren’t going to reinvent the wheel and thus Hanging Out with High Voltage was born. Each episode of the series will deliver an interview segment of less than five minutes where the final minute gets competitive as we launch into our quick fire round. In our quick fire round the artist will have 60 seconds to answer as many questions as possible. It’s a bit like Whose Line Is It Anyway? in the sense that the points don’t matter as the winner at the end of each season will simply win the satisfaction of just that: Winning. Our season will be defined by when the quick fire questions change, which will occur every 4-5 months so we can repeat artists later on and so nobody can cheat and learn the questions in advance.

And without further ado, today we’re pleased to launch the very first episode of our series featuring NYC’s indie rock band Mainland, who were an absolute delight to chat with. Their EP, Outcast, is available now.
