Big shows to a room of hundreds, little shows to a handful of friends, family and strangers: no show is unimportant in the development of a band’s live performance chops. Whether sharing a stage with Buddy Guy and Robert Randolph or playing local club gigs for the hometown crowd, it all came to a magnificent and sweaty head for roots rock trio The Record Company at the release show for their full length debut, Give It Back To You. They have long since come into their own, owning every stage they take and with constant bouts of humble Midwestern gratitude, Chris Vos (vox, guitar) along with Marc Cazola (drums) and Alex Stiff (bass) gave it all back to the crowd dishing out their fresh vintage sound to a packed and appreciative room of those friends, family and strangers – many of whom have known and supported these guys prior to the band’s inception in 2011 and since. It was a hell of a way to say “thank you.”
The Record Company signed to Concord Music Group last year, and if this night’s affair is any kind of harbinger, 2016 is going to be a good year for Chris, Marc and Alex along with the record company that took a chance and signed The Record Company to their record company.
