Somewhere amongst the icy hot glares, lyrical vengeance and a tempest ready to erupt upon command, Meg Myers made effective yet expedient work of her return to a Los Angeles stage at the El Rey Theatre. With her full length debut album (Sorry) and two EPs worth of material to source (Daughter In The Choir and Make A Shadow), the LA native-by-way-of-Tennessee hit all the jagged little nerves in the room with her emotionally muscular songs like “Lemon Eyes,” “Desire,” “Motel,” “Go” and “Heart Heart Head.” All, of course, wrapped up with the occasional blood curdling scream.
