A Silent Film (The Troubadour)

We confess: We have something of a soft spot for Robert Stevenson and Spencer Walker affectionately known as Oxford, England’s own A Silent Film and not just because we’ve featured them on the cover of our Spring 2015 issue of High Voltage (there was that one year at South By Southwest where we tracked a number of their shows…). The last time that A Silent Film brought their damned charming alternative rock to the Troubadour was in February 2013 opening for Gold Fields. With the release of their third full-length album (also affectionately known as A Silent Film), the lads returned to leave a mark of their own with a CD release show at the historic venue. Welcome back, gentlemen. These photos show the true nature of A Silent Film on stage: the energy, the engagement, the show. People danced, people sang, there was the always entertaining (and beginning of tour-inevitable) technical glitch, but nothing diminished the power of A Silent Film’s performance.
