Jamie N. Commons came “home” to Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre bringing with him a striking baritone voice that controverts his youth, a masterful command of Soul and American Blues, adept and seasoned musicians at his side and one very stylish poncho. An LA resident by way of Bristol, England (as well as Chicago and London), Commons is signed to the KIDinaKORNER wing of Interscope Records and currently on tour with Catfish and the Bottlemen. While his set was only 40 minutes long, songs like “Marathon,” Worth Your While,” “Jungle,” a stripped cover of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” and the single-worthy “Is Your Love Still Strong” showed Commons to be a stellar and reverent torchbearer for an old school sound who’s able to punch it up with a modern touch. Keep your eyes and ears on this one, folks…
