The first night of their tour supporting San Cisco brought Brooklyn, NY’s MOTHXR back to Los Angeles to a packed room at the El Rey Theatre. If you weren’t aware that actor Penn Badgely (Gossip Girl, Easy A, Greetings from Tim Buckley) had pipes worthy of fronting a band, well now you do. The fusion of indie rock with electronic moody grooves has begun to gain a following via the internet and moderate touring over the past two years and their hometown New York shows repeatedly sell out. Now MOTHXR and their elegant urban sound are back out on the road and we officially recommend that you catch them. Have we mentioned how much we dig this band? Well, we do.
