The Who: Natalie Prass (Virginia Beach, VA)
The What: Honestly, there’s not a bird to be found in this video for “Bird Of Prey” but, dammit, it’s awfully striking to look at. It’s the latest single from Natalie Prass’ self-titled debut album and her supple and dulcet soprano is as lovely as she is, singing about a lover more predatory than prince-like. And treated with vivid and bright colors, twirly umbrellas and playful playmates abound, the video (directed by Dum Dum Girls uber artistic bassist, Malia James) contrasts Prass’ subject matter more than concurs with it. If only heartbreak could actually be as whimsical as this video looks and feels.
