Road trip, anyone? Playing their final show of 2014, Dead Sara brought their no-holds-barred brand of ballsy rock (or rawk) not for the faint of heart 50 miles north of their Los Angeles base to Rock City Studios in Camarillo, CA. It was an intimate music space where Emily Armstrong, Sean Friday, Siouxsie Medley and Chris Null could do whatever they wanted because it was their party. Old songs (including “Dear Love”): check. New songs (like “Suicidal”): check. Stir up a slam circle: check. Approximately 20 seconds worth of a two-step shuffling, improv on the Men Without Hats jam “Safety Dance?” Yeah, that happened so…check.
We love this band. So much so that we put them on the cover of our Spring 2012 issue of High Voltage. And as the year comes to a close, we can’t wait to see what Dead Sara has in store for us in 2015.
