“See Me Now” By The Kooks

The Who: The Kooks

The What: It’s always a gamble when a band makes an especially personal and emotional investment in their music but this was something that Luke Pritchard felt that he had to do. So here he is with his band of Kooks delivering a musical eulogy to his dad, Bob Pritchard, who passed away when he was only three years old. Filmed on the streets of Japan, “See Me Now” (from their latest album, Listen) is a beautifully stripped and soulful ode to the loss – a connection to something everyone can relate to. And even though he’s all grown up, the child in Pritchard has said, “…it still cuts me up that he could never see me become a musician.” But the Kooks and Pritchard have done well for themselves and we suspect that the father is perfectly proud of his son.

The Where: You can find these UK lads in all of the usual locations: on Facebook, their official website or tweet them at @TheKooksMusic.
