Xander Smith @ the Mimosa Music Series

What’s this? Xander Smith showcasing as a solo artist? Better known as the lead singer of the indie rock band Run Run Run, Xander Smith took over the Mimosa Music Series to play a few new songs from his upcoming album, Outside, available July 14th . Xander started the show with himself and his guitarist then exploded in sound with a full band for the remaining songs.  Highlights were Xander’s haunting song “Spiders” where he spooks us with lyrics like “eight thousand little legs / I feel them come to you” and the catchy beat of “Say Anything.” Xander also took us on a journey to a darker place with “Seventeen,” a song that was inspired by the Sandy Hook school shooting. Overall, he gave a heartfelt and engaging performance to an early afternoon packed room.
